Instructions:

1. Cook potatoes for 20-30 minutes in pan with boiling, salted water. Drain, then peel dice them.

2. Place potatoes in bowl with 2 ounces of butter. Mash then until they are smooth, and season as desired.

3. Place remaining butter, cabbage and water in large sauce pan. Cover and gently cook for about 10 minutes. Mix potatoes and cabbage together. Season as desired.

4. Heat ½ oil in fry pan. Add onions. Stir occasionally while cooking until they soften. Add the cabbage and potato mixture. Press down to create an even, flat cake.

5. Cook on med-low for 15-20 minutes. Place on medium plate. Then add rest of oil. Cook on other side for about 10 more minutes.

6. Transfer mixture to plate. Slice in wedges. Serve.
